Race Controller(s) (Weekends and occasional evening work)
We currently has slots for one or more Race Controllers to operate the venue at weekends. The job is open to motivated individuals from the ages of 18 upwards.

Candidates should have:

  • Good people skills, being warm and friendly with the ability to speak to large groups
  • Good IT skills including the ability to use Microsoft Windows and resolve basic PC issues
  • GCSE Maths and English both at grade B or above
  • An awareness of motor sport and a passion for racing

Back-end Web Developer (Occasional work, can be done during evenings/weekends)
Our website is fast, simple and professional, but as we improve our venue facilities, we are collecting more and more data that we wish to display on our website in real time. We need someone who can help take our website to the next level, allowing both customers and employees to have easy access to the wealth of information that our race systems provide.

Candidates should have:

  • Good working knowledge of PHP.
  • Good working knowledge of MySQL.
  • Basic working knowledge of Ajax.
  • Understanding of security implications when using above technology on public websites.
  • Ability to take specification and work from design stage to completion with minimal supervision.

Sim Interface Developer (Occasional work, can be done during evenings/weekends)
Our in-house Event Management System interfaces with all of the latest race simulator engines. To best serve the demands of our drivers, we are constantly collating and reporting more and more data. We need additional developers familiar with extracting data from and remotely controlling game engines. Of particular interest at this time are developers familiar with rFactor and rFactor 2.

Candidates should have:

  • Good working knowledge of C++ with a focus on performance and low overhead design techniques
  • Good working knowledge of Multi-threading memory management
  • Good working knowledge of TCP/IP Sockets
  • Good working knowledge of laying 2D Graphics over 3D Graphics
  • Good working knowledge of extracting data from separate processes running on same system
  • Ability to produce readable code with low overhead trace and debugging options
  • Ability to take specification and work from design stage to completion with minimal supervision.
