Frequently Asked Questions:
Is this a good alternative to Karting? Just how realistic are the simulators?
Absolutely it is! It’s great fun and professional race drivers visit regularly for circuit familiarisation and pre-race practice.
Do drivers have to use gears and a clutch pedal?
All simulators are paddle shift equipped with optional clutch and fully automatic transmission if desired.
Do the race car simulators move?
Our Simulator Pods are stationary, which reduces the risk of motion sickness while using the equipment. We have found other ways to create our amazingly immersive experience.
I’ve never used a race car simulator before. Will everything be explained for me?
Absolutely. Most people that come to us are first-timers. All events begin with a driver briefing and practice session.
What adaptations do you offer for drivers with disabilities?
The simulators are designed to ease basic access. In addition, we are always happy to discuss options to cater for specific disabilities such as restricted leg mobility for example.
Can I come and see what it’s all about before I book?
We are open seven days a week and are always happy for you to come and see the facilities and what we do.
What racing games or simulation software do you use?
Our venues give you access to the same simulation software used by the current F1 teams all managed by the world-leading Venue Management Systems from Sim Racing Limited.
Can I have any car and track I want?
We have invested considerable time selecting and tailoring driving combinations for your enjoyment, so will have recommendations that we feel will provide you with the best possible experience. But if you have a reason for a specific car or circuit then please let us know.
What is the biggest group you can handle at The Race Centre?
Through a range of event formats, we regularly handle group events for anything up to fifty drivers, or more! We do this using the ten professional simulators.
Will we be on track together and be able to see each other?
All simulators are fully linked so you can see, hear and race each other. Racing is what we are here for!
Are there any age/height restrictions?
We have a minimum height restriction of 4’5” (135cm), maximum is 6’11” (210cm). Our minimum height of 135cm already factors in the use of a booster seat insert and cushions.
We also suggest a minimum age of 8 due to the intellectual challenge of the experience.
