Track of The Month – September 2017

Sepang, Malaysia

The Race Centre’s Track of the Month this September is the Sepang International circuit in Malaysia. The first of the ‘Tilkedromes’ – a group of modern circuits designed by german architect Hermann Tilke, Sepang is a 3.4 mile circuit and has been on the Formula 1 calendar since 1999. Regarded as one of the more technical circuits on the calendar, Sepang’s mix of tight corners and fast sweeping sections, in addition to it’s long straights make it a challenge for drivers and engineers alike. This years Malaysian Grand Prix will sadly be it’s last in Formula 1 for now, so make sure you get down to The Race Centre this month to enjoy Sepang whilst you still can!

70 years of Scuderia Ferrari

This month, we’ll be focusing on the most successful team in the history of Formula 1; Ferrari. Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1929, Ferrari initially began in partnership with fellow Italian manufacturer Alfa Romeo, but by 1947 Ferrari had began building their own racing cars with their own name and logo; the iconic prancing horse. Since Formula 1’s inception in 1950, Ferrari are the only ever-present team and during that span, they’ve been hugely successful, amassing 16 World Constructor’s Championships, as well as 15 World Driver’s Championships. Whist the teams recent results haven’t quite lived up to their illustrious history, their current driver lineup of Sebastian Vettel & Kimi Raikkonen, as well as their SF70H chassis mean that Ferrari have a great chance of bringing joy to the Tifosi – the teams’ passionate Italian fans, and glory back to Maranello for the first time since 2008.

We hope you enjoy this fantastic circuit and the cars we have chosen!
