We’re coming back home for April as Thruxton is The Race Centre’s Hotlapping Track of the Month!

Located less than 10 miles outside of Andover in Hampshire, England, Thruxton is our local circuit. At 2.356 miles (3.793 km) in length and consisting of 12 turns, Thruxton is often regarded as the “Fastest Circuit in the UK” where drivers can reach speeds of over 190 mph (300 km/h)!

Originally constructed in 1942 as World War II airfield RAF Thruxton, the site served as a base for both RAF and USAAF. It played a crucial role in operations during the D-Day landings in which it functioned as a hub for troop-carrying aircraft. From 1950 to 1965, motorbike races took place on the runways and outer road. The current racing circuit, which follows the path of the airfield perimeter road, was established in 1968.

Nowadays, due to certain restrictions, Thruxton is limited to 12 days of motorsport each year. Currently, three of these days are dedicated to motorbike racing, with a weekend reserved for the British Superbike Championship. The remaining days are devoted to car racing such as the British Touring Car Championship, Porsche Carrera Cup GB, British Truck Racing Championship, and occasional historic races.

In summary, Thruxton Circuit is a historic and iconic venue in British racing history known for its incredibly fast and undulating layout which always provides an enjoyable experience for both drivers and spectators alike.

What can you drive this month?

You are welcome to drive any of the month’s vehicles at any time in an Open Practice Session. All lap times and telemetry are recorded for your immediate viewing and future reference.

New drivers to The Race Centre will be automatically classified as Class D drivers. Winning in a class at the end of the month will gain you a promotion to the next class up.

Competition Terms and Conditions

All potential prize-winning laps must be verified by a TRC staff member.

For a lap to be legal, your vehicle must have two or more wheels inside or touching the white lines at all times.

Vehicles must be running all standard TRC settings for the month.

Multiple Class wins within a month will result in prizes for the highest win only. Lower “wins” will be passed to the next highest competitors.

TRC Staff are not eligible to win prizes. Any winning positions held by staff will defer to the next highest driver.

Free entry to First Monday is for the next event and is non-transferable.

In order to win Free First Monday entry in Class A, you must be within the top 10% of fastest lap time for the month.

Open Race Meeting voucher will be valid for 6 months from the date of postage.
